How much detergent should I use per load?+

One tablespoon (one scoop) for everyday laundry, 1.5 for large loads, and 2 tablespoons for bedding, towels, or heavily soiled loads. The ultra-concentrated formula means a little goes a long way.

Does Unscented work in hard water?+

Yes. We updated the formula in March 2026 with sodium gluconate, a natural hard-water chelator. It binds calcium and magnesium ions before they leave mineral residue on fabric. Standard dosing works in hard water — no adjustment needed.

Can I use this in HE washing machines?+

Yes — our low-sudsing formula is compatible with both HE and standard machines, top load and front load. Effective in cold, warm, and hot water.

Why doesn't it create a lot of suds?+

Suds don't equal clean. Low suds let the detergent rinse completely clean, helping prevent residue buildup on fabric — which is exactly what reactive skin needs.

"My husband and I had been using a common brand unscented liquid laundry detergent; however, our laundry was just not getting totally clean; AND, the washer was getting gunked up and smelly, which required frequent vinegar “clean” cycles. "I have never liked powdered laundry detergents because of residue left on my clothes. But I also don’t like using liquid detergents in plastic jugs for environmental reasons. Dissolvable laundry sheets also left funny residue marks on my dark clothes and I sometimes found them stuck to the side of my washing machine tub! When I tried this powder, my clothes felt clean, smelled clean ( meaning no smell at all) and I saw no residue marks of any kind. It’s a win!"
