Methylene Blue Sea Moss Tallow Soap Bar

USP-Grade Methylene Blue · Face & Body · Cold-Process

A cold-process face and body soap bar with USP-grade methylene blue, sea moss, and beef tallow. No synthetic fragrance. No parabens. Handcrafted in Florida.

💙

This bar is naturally blue. The color comes entirely from the USP-grade methylene blue — not from added dye. Methylene blue may leave a faint temporary tint on skin and white flannels on first use. This is normal and expected.

💙 THE BLÜ FORMULA
Three ingredients. Each one chosen with intention.

Most soap bars are formulated around cost. This one is formulated around the ingredient list. USP-grade methylene blue. Golden wildcrafted sea moss from St. Lucia. Grass-fed beef tallow. Three ingredients rarely found together in a single cold-process bar — each included because of what it is, not what it's marketed to do.

💙 WHY THE BAR IS BLUE

The color is not added. It comes entirely from the USP-grade methylene blue in the formula. Methylene blue is naturally a vivid blue compound — which means every bar is a visual confirmation that the active ingredient is present. No dye. No colorant. The blue is the ingredient.

USP-grade methylene blue — the same standard as the capsule range
The methylene blue in this bar meets the same United States Pharmacopeia purity specification as the Alpinia blu capsules. Not cosmetic grade. Not industrial grade. The cleanest specification available — in a cold-process bar.
Golden wildcrafted sea moss — sourced directly from St. Lucia
Our sea moss comes directly from our family in St. Lucia — golden wildcrafted Chondrus Crispus hand-harvested from the Caribbean. Naturally high in minerals and mucilage content, with the provenance transparency most sea moss products can't offer.
Grass-fed beef tallow — skin-compatible fatty acid profile
Tallow's fatty acid composition — predominantly oleic, palmitic, and stearic acid — closely mirrors the sebum naturally produced by human skin. One of the oldest soap-making fats in history, chosen for what it is rather than what it costs.
Cold-process method — natural glycerin retained
Cold-process soap making preserves the natural glycerin produced during saponification. Commercial manufacturers typically extract and sell this glycerin separately, leaving behind a harsher bar. Cold-process bars keep it.
THE THREE HERO INGREDIENTS
What's in it. Why it's there.
USP-GRADE · ACTIVE
Methylene Blue

USP-grade specification — the same purity standard as the Alpinia blu capsule range applied to a topical cold-process formula. The natural blue compound that gives this bar its color. No dye needed. The blue is the ingredient.

Methylene Blue (USP-Grade)
WILDCRAFTED · ST. LUCIA · FAMILY SOURCED
Golden Sea Moss

Our golden wildcrafted sea moss comes directly from our family in St. Lucia — hand-harvested Chondrus Crispus from the Caribbean. Naturally high in iodine, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. High mucilage content gives the lather its smooth, gel-like quality. Traceable to its source.

Chondrus Crispus Extract
GRASS-FED · RENDERED
Beef Tallow

Rendered grass-fed beef fat — one of the oldest soap-making fats in history. Fatty acid profile closely mirrors human sebum. Produces a hard, long-lasting bar with a dense, creamy lather that olive oil alone cannot achieve.

Bos Taurus (Beef Tallow)
THE COLD-PROCESS METHOD
Why method matters as much as ingredients.

Cold-process soap making is a traditional method that allows every ingredient — including the naturally produced glycerin — to remain in the finished bar. Commercial soap manufacturers typically extract and sell the glycerin separately, leaving behind a bar that cleans more harshly. Cold-process bars keep what the formula creates.

ABOUT THE NATURAL GLYCERIN

Glycerin is a natural byproduct of saponification — the chemical reaction that turns oils into soap. It is a humectant that draws moisture to the skin. In cold-process soap making, this glycerin stays in the bar. In commercial soap production, it is often extracted because glycerin is more valuable sold separately than left in a bar of soap.

01
Oils and tallow are combined
Saponified olive oil, coconut oil, and grass-fed beef tallow are combined to form the soap base — each contributing different qualities to the final bar.
02
Golden wildcrafted sea moss is incorporated
Chondrus Crispus sourced directly from St. Lucia is added during the formulation process, distributing its mineral content and naturally high mucilage throughout the bar.
03
USP-grade methylene blue is added
The USP-grade methylene blue is incorporated — the moment the bar turns blue. The color is instant and even, confirming the active ingredient is distributed throughout the formula.
04
Cure period
Cold-process bars require a cure period after pouring — during which the saponification completes and the bar hardens to its final form. This cannot be rushed.
💙 ABOUT THE BLUE
The blue is not a dye. It is the ingredient.

Every bar in the Blü range is naturally blue. Not colored. Not dyed. The blue comes entirely from the USP-grade methylene blue in the formula — which is itself a vivid blue compound. No colorant is added because none is needed. The intensity of the blue confirms the presence of the active ingredient.

Will it stain my skin blue?
Methylene blue may leave a faint temporary tint on skin on first use — particularly if lather is left on skin for a period. This fades quickly with rinsing. Use as directed: lather, apply, rinse thoroughly. Do not leave lather sitting on skin.
Will it stain my flannel or washcloth?
Methylene blue can temporarily tint white flannels and washcloths. This washes out in laundry. To minimize: rinse your washcloth immediately after use rather than leaving it wet with lather.
Why does the color vary between bars?
Cold-process soap making produces slight natural variation between batches. The intensity of the blue may vary slightly from bar to bar — this is a normal characteristic of handcrafted cold-process soap and does not indicate a difference in formulation.
Is the blue safe?
The methylene blue in this bar is USP-grade — the same pharmaceutical purity specification used in the Alpinia blu capsule range. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Avoid contact with eyes.
Full Ingredients — every one explained
COLD-PROCESS · HANDCRAFTED

INCI names shown in italics. Every ingredient listed — nothing hidden.

Saponified Olive Oil
Olea Europaea Fruit Oil
The primary oil base. High oleic acid content — gentle and skin-compatible. Saponified with lye to create soap through the cold-process method. The lye is completely consumed in the reaction and none remains in the finished bar.
Saponified Coconut Oil
Cocos Nucifera Oil
Adds rich lather and cleansing action. Coconut oil produces significant foam in soap — it is included specifically for its lathering properties, balanced by the olive oil and tallow base.
Grass-Fed Beef Tallow 🥩 HERO
Bos Taurus (Tallow)
Rendered grass-fed beef fat. Fatty acid profile closely mirrors human sebum — predominantly oleic, palmitic, and stearic acid. Produces a hard, long-lasting bar with a dense, creamy lather. One of the oldest and most skin-compatible soap-making fats.
Sustainable Palm Oil
Elaeis Guineensis Oil
Adds firmness and helps maintain the bar's hardness and longevity. Sourced from certified sustainable palm — RSPO-compliant supply chain.
Golden Wildcrafted Sea Moss 🌿 ST. LUCIA
Chondrus Crispus Extract
Our golden sea moss comes directly from our family in St. Lucia — wildcrafted and hand-harvested from the Caribbean. Naturally high in iodine, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. The naturally high mucilage content contributes a smooth, gel-like lather quality you won't find in sea moss sourced from commercial bulk suppliers.
USP-Grade Methylene Blue 💙 ACTIVE
Methylene Blue (USP-Grade)
Pharmaceutical purity specification — the same standard as the Alpinia blu capsule range applied to a topical formula. The compound that gives this bar its natural blue color. No dye is added. The blue is the ingredient.
Sodium Lactate
Sodium Lactate
A naturally derived salt of lactic acid. Added to the cold-process formula to improve bar hardness and aid unmoulding. Helps produce a firmer, longer-lasting bar without altering the formula's skin feel.
🌿 SEA MOSS SOURCING — ST. LUCIA, FAMILY SUPPLY CHAIN

Our golden wildcrafted sea moss comes directly from our family in St. Lucia. Hand-harvested Chondrus Crispus from the Caribbean — not sourced from a commercial bulk supplier, not irradiated, not dried in industrial conditions. We know where our sea moss comes from because we know the people who harvest it.

HOW TO USE
Face and body. A few things to know first.
01
Wet the bar and your hands or washcloth
The bar lathers best when both the bar and your hands are thoroughly wet. Build lather in hands before applying to skin rather than rubbing the bar directly on your face.
02
Apply lather to face or body
Apply the lather gently. Do not leave lather sitting on skin for extended periods — rinse promptly to minimize any temporary blue tint from the methylene blue.
03
Rinse thoroughly
Rinse completely. Any temporary blue tint will fade quickly with thorough rinsing. Avoid eye area.
04
Store dry between uses
Store on a dry soap dish that allows water to drain. Do not leave the bar sitting in water — it will dissolve faster. Keeping the bar dry between uses significantly extends its lifespan.

💙 BLUE TINT — WHAT TO EXPECT

Skin: May leave a faint temporary blue tint — fades quickly with rinsing. More noticeable on first use.

White flannels: Methylene blue can tint white washcloths temporarily. Rinse immediately after use. Washes out in laundry.

Grout and surfaces: Avoid prolonged contact with white grout or porous surfaces. Rinse the sink after use.

FAQs

Methylene blue may leave a faint temporary tint on skin — particularly on first use or if lather is left on for a period. This fades quickly with thorough rinsing. Use as directed: build lather in wet hands, apply, rinse completely. The tint is temporary and not a stain.

USP-grade is the purity specification set by the United States Pharmacopeia — the standard used in pharmaceutical applications. Most methylene blue skincare products use cosmetic or laboratory-grade active ingredients which allow for a wider range of impurities. The Blü bar uses the same pharmaceutical purity specification as the Alpinia blu capsule range — because the standard we apply to what goes in your body also applies to what goes on it.

No synthetic fragrance, no parabens, no SLS. Cold-process method retains natural glycerin. The tallow base has a fatty acid profile compatible with human skin. However this bar contains USP-grade methylene blue which is an active compound — patch test on a small area of skin before full facial use. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Grass-fed beef tallow — rendered from grass-fed cattle. Tallow is one of the oldest soap-making fats and has a fatty acid profile that closely mirrors human sebum. If you do not use animal products this bar is not suitable for you — the tallow is an essential functional ingredient in the formula, not an incidental one.

Cold-process soap making produces slight natural variation between batches. The intensity of the blue may vary from bar to bar — this is a normal characteristic of handcrafted cold-process soap and does not indicate a difference in formulation or methylene blue concentration.

Handcrafted in Cape Coral, Florida. Every bar is made in the USA by a team that holds every formula to the same standard — from laundry detergent to supplement capsules to this soap bar.
