Why we kept the baking soda.
Most "natural" deodorants brag about being baking-soda-free — because baking soda can be harsh on sensitive skin, and leaving it out is the easy way to avoid complaints.
We took the harder route. Baking soda is simply the most effective natural odor neutralizer there is — so instead of removing it, we balanced it.
Here's why it works: sweat itself is nearly odorless. Odor happens when bacteria on your skin break sweat down into acidic compounds. Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is alkaline, so it neutralizes those acidic odor compounds and balances your skin's surface pH — stopping odor at the source rather than just masking it.
To keep it gentle, we pair it with soothing Nordic barley, conditioning squalane, and nourishing coconut oil. The result: baking soda that works hard, without the harshness.

A swipe or two is plenty. Natural deodorant is concentrated — more isn't better, and a light layer feels best.

Body heat softens the balm as you apply, so it glides on smoothly and absorbs without residue.
