Laundry questions, answered.
Is the lemon scent synthetic fragrance or real essential oil?+
Real lemon essential oil — cold-pressed from the rind, terpene-based botanical, paraben-free and phthalate-free. No synthetic fragrance compounds. The scent is light and fades after drying. What you smell is exactly what's listed on the label.
Does Pure Lemon work in hard water?+
Yes. We updated the formula in March 2026 with sodium gluconate, a natural hard-water chelator from glucose fermentation. It binds calcium and magnesium ions before they leave mineral residue on fabric. Standard dosing works in hard water — no need to use more detergent.
Will the lemon scent stay on my clothes?+
The scent is intentionally light and fades after drying, leaving fabric subtly fresh rather than heavily perfumed. If you prefer a stronger lasting fragrance, Pure Lemon isn't the right choice — it's designed for people who want clean freshness without fragrance buildup on skin.
How much should I use per load?+
1 tablespoon for regular loads, 2 tablespoons for large or heavily soiled loads. With the updated hard-water formula, standard dosing works in hard water too — no need to increase. A standard tablespoon works if the scoop is misplaced.
Is this safe for sensitive skin?+
It's formulated without synthetic fragrance, optical brighteners, SLS, or microplastics, and designed to rinse clean without leaving residue. If you have highly reactive skin or fragrance sensitivity, our Unscented formula is the better choice.
Does Pure Lemon contain SLS?+
No. Pure Lemon contains no SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate), no SLES, and no harsh synthetic surfactants. Cleaning action comes from our 6-enzyme blend, mineral boosters, and Ecosurf EH-9 — an eco-friendly surfactant system that cleans without the residue of conventional surfactant formulas.
Can I use this in HE washing machines?+
Yes — compatible with all HE and standard machines, top load and front load. The concentrated powder produces minimal foam, ideal for low-water HE machines. Use 1–2 tablespoons.
