Sparkling Dishes · Zero Residue

Ditch toxic pods. Clean without microplastics.

Most dishwasher pods use PVA plastic film that doesn't fully dissolve — a form of microplastic that ends up in water systems. Many conventional tablets rely on SLS and synthetic fragrance. Our powder does neither: four targeted enzymes, a natural hard-water chelator, and Florida lemon essential oil. Nothing that shouldn't be near your plates.

4 targeted enzymes

Each with a specific food-residue job — engineered for dishwasher temperatures and pH.

Hard-water formula

Sodium gluconate binds mineral ions before they spot your glassware.

Real lemon EO

Cold-pressed Florida lemon essential oil — not synthetic fragrance.

Zero microplastics

No PVA film, no plastic pods. Powder dissolves completely.

Next-Generation Enzyme Science

4 targeted enzymes. Each one with a specific job.

Every dish type covered, every food residue treated — not just enzymes added for a label claim.

Targeted Enzymes · Active Every Cycle
1

Protease

Proteins · Egg · Meat · Dairy

Breaks down protein-based residue — egg, meat, dairy, blood — at the molecular level. The primary enzyme for stubborn protein stains on plates and cookware.

2

Amylase

Starch · Pasta · Rice · Bread

Cuts starch into water-soluble fragments that rinse away. Prevents the invisible starchy film left by pasta, rice, and bread.

3

Lipase

Cooking Oils · Butter · Grease

Breaks lipid bonds so fats and oils rinse cleanly instead of leaving a greasy film that builds up over time.

4

Mannanase

Sauces · Dressings · Processed Foods

Targets gum-based residues from sauces and dressings — the enzyme most dishwasher brands skip, leaving a whole category of residue untreated.

Alpiniå Dishwasher Detergent — updated hard water formula
Formula Improvement · March 2026

Already great. Now works everywhere.

One customer mentioned hard water. Instead of ignoring it, we improved the formula — adding sodium gluconate, a natural chelator from glucose fermentation that binds calcium and magnesium ions before they leave mineral residue on glassware and dishes.

Biodegradable, non-toxic, and effective at standard dosing in any water — soft, hard, or anywhere between.

Because the standard we hold ourselves to doesn't have a ceiling.

From Our Founder

Why we made this detergent.

Hear it straight from Katie — what goes into the formula, what we deliberately leave out, and why a powder beats a plastic pod every time.

Observation first. Claims last.

How We Stack Up

Powder, pods, tablets, gels — what's actually in them.

Compared by format, not brand — because the format determines what has to be in it. Even a pressed tablet usually needs a polymer binder just to hold its shape.

How to Use

Precise dosing. Every dish type covered.

Add powder to the detergent compartment — not the pre-wash. Sodium gluconate handles hard water at standard dosing, so there's no separate rinse aid to manage.

Hard water — no change
Add powder to the main detergent compartment — not the pre-wash compartment.
Measure with the included scoop or a standard tablespoon.
Don't mix with liquid detergents or pods in the same cycle.
Store powder dry with the lid sealed — it absorbs moisture and will clump if exposed.
FAQs

Questions, answered.

Is this dishwasher detergent non-toxic?+
The formula is free from SLS, synthetic fragrance, optical brighteners, chlorine bleach, phthalates, and microplastics. It uses plant-derived surfactants and a 4-enzyme blend sourced from world-leading enzyme science. We avoid the term "non-toxic" because it has no regulatory definition — instead we list every ingredient so you can verify the formula yourself.
Does it leave residue on dishes or glassware?+
No. The enzyme blend breaks down food residue at the molecular level, and the sodium gluconate chelator binds mineral ions in hard water before they deposit on glassware. At correct dosing — 1 tablespoon — dishes rinse completely clean. Overdosing powder can leave a white film, same as any detergent.
Is it better than dishwasher pods?+
Pods use PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) plastic film that doesn't fully dissolve — research shows significant amounts pass through wastewater treatment as microplastic. Pods also give no dosing control, the same fixed amount regardless of load size. Powder dissolves completely, gives precise dosing, and contains no plastic film.
Is it safe for baby bottles and kids' dishes?+
Yes. No SLS, no synthetic fragrance, no optical brighteners, no chlorine bleach. The enzyme blend and plant-derived surfactants rinse cleanly. For extra peace of mind you can run an additional rinse cycle for baby items, though at correct dosing it isn't necessary.
Does it work in hard water?+
Yes. We updated the formula in March 2026 with sodium gluconate, a natural hard-water chelator from glucose fermentation. It binds calcium and magnesium ions before they deposit on dishes. Standard dosing works in hard water — no adjustment and no separate rinse aid needed for mineral management.
Does this work in all dishwashers?+
Yes. Compatible with all standard dishwashers — European and American models, all cycle types including eco, intensive, and quick wash. Add powder to the detergent compartment, not the pre-wash compartment.

Cleaning the removable filter at the bottom of a dishwasher
A Quick Tip

Cleaner dishes start with a clean filter.

Even the best detergent can't out-clean a clogged filter. Most dishwashers have a removable filter at the bottom that traps food debris — and it works best when it's rinsed out regularly.

Twist it out, rinse under warm water, give it a gentle scrub with a soft brush, and pop it back in. A quick monthly rinse keeps your glassware spotless and your dishwasher running fresh.
